PASSION AND TRADITION

Here are the founding values of Azienda Agricola il Roccolo, which Andrea Bertazzi renews every day with commitment. These are the values we find in his every gesture and in every bottle of wine or oil bearing his mark. Il Roccolo.

A FAMILY STORY

The Bertazzi family has very ancient origins and is already present as a surname in the town's statutes dating back to 1454.

The origin of the company's name is very old: Roccolo is the name of a small, slender construction, built on the base of a medieval turret. It is built on the top of a small hill located in the heart of the farm. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, it enjoys a panoramic view of the wonderful Lake Garda.

Over time, the activity wasn't just typically agricultural: at the beginning of the 20th century, the great-grandmother started managing a trattoria with accommodation. There was also a small butcher's shop and a horse-and-carriage taxi service was offered (the famous . (Bresciano). It was in the 1950s that grandfather Andrea focused the business on the production of wine and oil, helped by his son Giuseppe.

A MODERN FARM

separator

Andrea Bertazzi inherited the most precious thing from his Grandfather and Father: know-how. With entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm, he modernised the farm, selecting production technologies offered by the market. Technological progress is harnessed in a balanced way and ensures strict respect for Nature and its rhythms.

WINE

Over the years, Azienda Agricola Il Roccolo has developed a wide range of wines: from the classic red Riviera Garda Classico Groppello and Chiaretto, to still and sparkling whites, to the IGT Benaco Bresciano Marzemino.

It would be impossible not to mention a few fortunate projects, such as the Miriam rosé sparkling wine and the Anemos brut sparkling wine.

In addition to Indomito, a red wine with great character, we find Groppello Vermuth and distillates: Groppello Grappa and aged Grappa.

At the heart of these and other products is a single ingredient: grapes, which Andrea Bertazzi cultivates with daily dedication.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Olive cultivation and Garda are a very fortunate union, dating back to very distant times. The particular microclimate gifted by Lake Garda allows olives to be cultivated at otherwise impossible latitudes. The result is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil of extremely high quality, recognised and sought after worldwide.

Andrea Bartazzi has been actively involved in the management of the Consortium for the Protection of Garda DOP since he was a young man, a further testimony of his love for the Garda area.

The olive trees, mainly of the Casaliva, Frantoio and Leccino varieties, are cultivated using natural techniques directly by Andrea, a traditional olive grower who follows the entire production process.

Located south of Polpenazze del Garda, Roccolo Bertazzi enjoys unparalleled views.

Visible to the south are the morainic hills that mark the southern border of the lake from the area of Lonato and Desenzano. To the east, in the foreground, is the Rocca di Manerba, the Sirmone peninsula and, in the background, the eastern shore of Lake Garda and Mount Baldo.

To the north, the Gulf of Salò pushes the view towards the Garda foothills, with the Adamello in the background.
